Apple se lance dans la VOD.

Après avoir signé des accords avec Walt Disney et Paramount, Apple mettra en ligne en automne un système de vidéo à la demande pour les USA.
Certains studios ont refusé d'y contribuer craignant que cela soit un obstacle à la vente de DVDs.

Le film sera loué 3$ pour 30 jours de visionnage. Cependant, il sera impossible de le copier sur un support DVD. Mais il pourra être lu sur l'AppleTV, iPod ou l'IPhone.

Ce nouveau service sera un très sérieux concurrent aux chaînes cablés ainsi qu'aux differents services VOD déjà existants.

Apple initiates a VOD activity.

As Apple closed some agreements with Walt Disney and Paramount, Apple will releases VOD distribution in autumn for the US.
Some studios denied to deal with fearing for DVD sales decrease.

Movie rental price is 3$ for 30 days. The system prevents you to copy the movie on any support but you can watch it on either AppleTV, iPod or IPhone.

No doubt that this new system will be a serious competitor for cable operator and others existing VOD systems.
